The comic work of Dick Millington

Dick Millington draws every day except Sunday for the Daily Mail. I don't believe it! A Victor Meldred (One foot in the grave)type. Suits the Daily Mail very well:))

Now that father looks like the guy from the Daily Mail strip. Whizzer and Chips early 1980's.

Now to see what happens next...:)

Love this inside book picture from Tv comic annual 1969. Also with the signature!

One of most popular Tv Comic stars..ironically not on telly. Amazing how such a simple concept could last such a long time. Man hates moth! Moth always wins! Simple man! 1959 to 1989!!!

From Whizzer and chips 2 creations Hover Boots and Jolly Roger from Dick- 1st May 1976.

Learn magic tricks from Krazy comic. 1976-77.

I loved this as a child. Baby was best! the naughty one. From Pippin.
1967-84.

From TV comic 1969 annual.

Steve Bright takes over drawing a Dandy comic library

Jimmy Glen

Peter Davidson

Steve Brights Desperate Dan

Heres an unusual comic library.
A comic artist starts drawing the first couple of pages... then for some reason stops..then the new artist finishes it off. Steve Bright is the artist who did the honour. Though they don't blend together at all its fun to read and see.

Peter, thanks for doing that - it hasn't improved any with age! the initial pages were drawn by Peter Davidson ('The Broons' and 'Oor Wullie' artist), and I had forgotten that the cover was done by DCT staff artist, Jimmy Glen. I can't recall why Peter couldn't complete the library, nor indeed why Jimmy did the cover at a time when I was doing many of the covers for the other libraries (perhaps Ian had decided I'd made enough of a pig's ear of the inside pages). So it's a bit of an oddity all round. -Steve Bright

Drawing a comic with Dado in 1987 at the age of 14

8th March 1987.

Pop Cron is how I wanted to spell it.....maybe Pop corn would've been better...

I drew many comics with Dado. Meteor is from the comic Dad drew as a teen in the fifties. Probably inspired by the Eagle comic. Harris Tweed Detective was in Eagle at the time, Dad had come up with his own version Henry Bend Brain Detective...which he drew a new adventure here in 1987. Of course I was inspired by Nutty and The Beano. Jack is inspired from Nuttys Tweet William. St Mustard kids (Bash Street) Bonzo (Sparkys Barney Bull dog...even at that time I liked old comics).

Every Dad should draw cartoons and comics with there sons.

My Dado's super paintings

My Dad a great cartoonist and painter. So much imagination, variety of styles and humour. Check out more of his paintings at his website.

Robin Gray
25th July 1939- 17th May 2008.

He was a Graphic Designer all his life. Drawing many adverts for lots of different graphic design companies. His favourite one he worked for was British Aerospace. Everything was done without computers in those days...so lots of hand lettering, cutting and pasting with a craft knife. Also he used many styles to do the job.

He was a cartoonist as well which is where I get my talent from. Its in the blood. Loved drawing comics with him as a kid.
